It’s our 31st Year!

Fishing University begins its 31th year in 2017, airing to a national audience on the Outdoor Channel, WFN, and the Sportsman Channel. As America’s original “teaching show”, each week we provide instructional, in-depth coverage on the whys and how-tos of each activity. We tell what specific equipment to use and show our viewers how to use it. Our goal is to teach viewers how to catch more fish on their home lake and to help our sponsors sell more product.

Every great show has a great team behind it. Although Charlie and Ray are the stars and co-hosts of the show, they are complimented by an outstanding team of highly trained and experienced personnel. Debra Talley is the Executive Producer and works as Vice President of Program Development, Jimmy Patterson is the Director of Photography, Rick Cheatham is the Art Director, Barry Cross is our editor, John Glenn is our Communications Director, and Bart Conover is our backup cameraman.

The "team concept" we incorporated a few years back where Charlie and Ray fish with two representatives from our sponsoring companies and they use the exact same lures, on the same lake, at the same time, in a tournament type format has been a huge success. Viewers learn how one bait can cause dramatically different results on the same lake, same day, and same conditions.

Our “Back to School” segments have been one of our greatest successes and such a great tool to teach and inform high schoolers about careers in the outdoors. From Park Rangers to Eco-Tourism to Fisheries Biologists, we have enjoyed a great season meeting these ‘guardians of our natural resources’ at every state we’ve filmed in.

Because of the shows’ huge success with younger audiences, Charlie and Ray are booked all across the US for personal appearances and both still compete in the two major tournament trails—Charlie in FLW and Ray in B.A.S.S
